Individual access purchases on behalf of organization members

This guide will assist you in setting up and managing Individual access purchases, including configuring requisite organization, seat, and license types. License Products don’t require an Organization Type. Instead, they use License Types to grant users access to specific content—like courses or digital downloads—upon purchase.
Steps to Configure MemberSync Individual Access Purchases
Step 1: Prepare System License Types

Prepare LearnDash Courses and Categories
- Ensure that LearnDash Courses and Categories are set up, as they will be utilized as system license types.

Enable LearnDash Content Sync
- Navigate to
Settings > MemberSync > Settings
in the WP Admin. - Enable "Sync LearnDash Content as license types" in the "Licensing settings" section.
- This setting automatically creates License Types based on your LearnDash Courses and Categories.
- This should ideally be done after installation as part of the set up step
- Navigate to
Step 2: Define Seat Types
- Navigate to
MemberSync > Seat Types
in the WP Admin. - Click "Add New" to create a new seat type. Define a seat type name.
- Associate license types with the seat. For each, define:
- how access is granted: choose between Automatic or Seat Holder. "Automatic" will automatically redeem the license as soon as a user is assigned to a seat. "Seat Holder" allows the license to be redeemed on the seat holder by a manager.
- Courses can be grouped into course categories for easier configuration.
- Set the total quantity available and expiration details for the access.
Step 3: Configure Individual Access Product
- Enter the Product Title and Product Details.
- Choose a Product Type. Currently supported types are:
- Simple Product
- Simple Subscription
- Variation (partially supported)
- Enable MemberSync License by checking the box labeled Enable MemberSync License.
- Enabling the Enable MemberSync License would show a few more customization options that membersync allows
- Set the license prices and expiration. This controls how long the buyer will have access to the content
- Optionally the Create Organization can be turned on to have the possibility to create new organization when one or multiple licenses are bought.
- There are some License Settings options available as well to allow the license product to be automatically redeemed which means that the user would have access to content that is part of that product as soon as it's purchased but the feature is still not complete for now. 8 Part of the License Settings as well is the the license expiration where it will be possible to assign your license until this expiration inside the organization or have access to the content until the expiration if you bought it for
- The Content Option allows to set contents that should accessible when the product is purchased.
Step 4: Purchase Individual Access Product
- Open the Product page
- Choose the Organization you want to purchase the License product to
- Then go through the whole checkout process
- Go to the assigned Organization Dashboard
- Add a Member if Member is still not part of the Organization
- Then go to Assign Licenses to assign a uses the specific License that was created
- Now user that purchase should now have access to the content set on the Content Option.
